A payables ageing built from purchase orders measures when you ordered, not when you owe: it ages commitments as debt and misses every bill raised without an order. Why ours ages approved supplier bills by their due date, per currency, with open orders shown beside the debt rather than inside it.

Restricting a report usually means copying it once per audience, and the copies drift. Row security keeps one report and decides each person’s rows from who is looking, their warehouse, department or own record, and shows nothing when it cannot tell.

A custom report here belongs to whoever built it. The machinery deciding who may open a shared report is complete, careful and will never be consulted, because nothing in the product can create the record it reads — and the only test asserts the columns exist.
