Consignment and customer-owned stock

Consignment & Customer Stock

Answer Summary

Set an item's ownership to a customer's or a supplier's on consignment and it is received, issued, transferred and counted like any stock, but left out of Inventory Valuation and never journaled; ownership cannot change while stock is on hand. Check-out reasons that post revenue are marked on the form, take an optional sale value, need a second approver and appear in the Revenue from Stock Issues report. A transfer received short must give a reason on the web, and the missing units are valued at cost when received.
