Dead Stocknoun

Inventory that is unlikely to ever sell.

Dead stock is inventory that has not moved and is not expected to. It ties up cash and space and often ends up written down or off.

Identifying it early — through turnover and aging analysis — lets you discount, bundle or return it before it loses all value.
