Tax Compliance Certificatenoun · abbr.

Official confirmation that a business is up to date with its tax obligations.

A tax compliance certificate is issued by the revenue authority to confirm a taxpayer has filed returns and settled liabilities. It has a validity period and must be renewed.

It is a standard prequalification requirement for tenders and vendor onboarding, which makes expiry tracking a procurement task as much as a finance one — an approved supplier with a lapsed certificate cannot be awarded work.
