Certificate of Conformitynoun · abbr.
Proof from a pre-shipment inspection that goods meet destination standards.
A certificate of conformity is issued by an appointed inspection body confirming that a consignment meets the destination country’s applicable standards. Kenya and several neighbouring markets require it for many product categories.
It is issued before shipment, based on inspection at origin. Arriving without one typically means destination inspection, delay and additional cost — or refusal of entry.
