DDP puts maximum obligation on the seller: freight, insurance, import clearance, duties and delivery to the agreed address. The buyer simply receives the goods.
It is the simplest term to buy on and often the most expensive, since the seller prices in risk and local charges they control less well than you do. It also removes your visibility of the true duty paid.
