A punchout connection lets a buyer browse the supplier website from within their procurement system, build a basket, and return it as a requisition with correct codes, contract prices and account allocation already applied.

It gets the convenience of online shopping without losing control: everything still routes through approval, and the prices are the contracted ones rather than list.
