Kittingnoun

Combining separate items into a single sellable or issuable unit.

Kitting assembles several component SKUs into one kit SKU — a starter pack, a service kit, a promotional bundle. The components are consumed from stock and the kit is added, so quantities stay balanced.

The key decision is whether to build kits in advance or assemble them at the point of sale. Pre-built kits pick faster; virtual kits keep components free for other demand.
