Stock on Handnoun · abbr.
The physical quantity of an item currently in your possession.
Stock on hand is the raw count of units physically present across your locations, before any deductions for reservations or commitments. It answers the question "what is actually on the shelf right now?"
It differs from available stock, which subtracts quantities already allocated to orders. Teams that confuse the two oversell, so most systems display both figures side by side.
