Dock scheduling allocates each vehicle a time window and a bay, matched to available labour and equipment. Suppliers and carriers book in rather than arriving unannounced.

Without it, receiving alternates between idle staff and a queue of trucks incurring waiting charges. Booked slots also let you plan putaway labour against known volume.
