Warehouse · Definition
A standard platform used to move and store goods as one handling unit.
A pallet turns many cartons into a single unit a forklift can move. Standard footprints and agreed stacking patterns let goods move between racking, trucks and containers without repacking.
Recording a pallet or handling-unit identifier alongside its contents allows a whole pallet to be received, moved or shipped with one scan instead of counting cartons twice.
