The employee lifecycle runs through recruitment, onboarding, active employment, development, transfer or promotion, and offboarding. Each stage has its own records, approvals and system access implications.
Offboarding is the stage most often mishandled, and the one with the most exposure: final pay and leave settlement, asset recovery, and revoking system access on the right day.
