An annual tax deduction card summarising an employee’s pay and PAYE for the year.

The P9 is the annual certificate an employer issues each employee in Kenya, summarising monthly gross pay, benefits, allowable deductions, reliefs and PAYE deducted across the tax year.

Employees need it to file their individual returns, so it must reconcile exactly to the twelve monthly payrolls. Mid-year corrections that were never reflected in the payroll records surface here.
