A pick list sequences the items for one or more orders by location, so the picker walks a sensible route rather than criss-crossing the warehouse. It carries quantity, unit of measure, bin and often batch.
The sequence is where the productivity is. The same twenty lines picked in location order instead of order-entry order can halve the walking distance.
