Timesheet

A record of hours worked, allocated to days, tasks or projects.

A timesheet captures time worked and where it was spent. In payroll it drives wage and overtime calculation; in project work it drives cost allocation and client billing.

The two purposes pull in different directions — payroll needs completeness, project costing needs accurate allocation. Collecting once and using it for both only works if the coding is reliable.
