HR & People / Match score 46
Departments, Locations & Reason Codes
Three coding dimensions every record is filed against. A department is a flexible cost-centre concept carried on sixteen record types, from users and employees to purchase orders, budgets, projects and tickets. Warehouses hold locations carrying zone, aisle, bay, shelf, bin, a pick sequence, an optional capacity and one of eight storage roles including quarantine. Twenty-five reason codes ship — ten inbound, fifteen outbound — and two of them, Sale and Paid Checkout, carry the flag that makes a check-out post as revenue rather than as consumption.

Every bin location can be given a pick sequence. The field is validated, stored and displayed, and nothing in the product has ever sorted anything by it. The sixth inert field of exactly this shape, and what it tells you about reading a form as a promise.

Those three decisions are usually made in week one of an implementation, by whoever happened to be doing the setup, in about forty minutes. Two years later they are the reason a report can or cannot be produced — because every historical record is filed against them and refiling history is not a thing anybody does.

We built AWRA OpsHub around the way operational work actually moves: inventory creates demand, procurement answers it, receiving updates stock, sales and POS consume it, finance reconciles it, and reports explain what happened. This tour follows that chain step by step.

"Best" is not a product ranking — it depends on which part of stock control is actually failing you. Here is how to work that out, the questions that expose a weak answer, and a frank account of where we are the wrong purchase.
