Reconciliation Workspace
Every area that has to tie out for a month on one screen — cash drawers, payments, receivables, purchase-order receiving, stock value, bank and QuickBooks — each with its difference, a link to the items behind it, and a reviewer’s sign-off.
Open Reconciliation workspace at /accounting/reconciliation-workspace, from the accounting quick actions or the command palette. Choose the Month and press Show. The line above the table counts the areas in exception and how many are signed off.
The Areas
- Cash drawers — till sessions closed in the month still awaiting a supervisor’s review.
- Payments — settled payments that never reached the ledger.
- Invoices (receivables) — the receivables control account against the open invoices.
- PO receiving — the payables control account against open bills and receipts, plus orders the three-way match left in discrepancy.
- Inventory valuation — stock at its cost against the Inventory account.
- Bank — statement lines dated in or before the month still unmatched.
- QuickBooks — when connected, records whose push failed. Live balance comparison stays on the QuickBooks reconcile screen.
Each row reads OK, Exception or Not connected, with its difference and item count. View items opens the screen that does the work for that area. Cash drawers and bank are for the month; the balance comparisons are as at today, because the documents behind them have no history to rewind.
Sign-Off
- Review an area, type a note and press Sign off.
- An area in exception needs a note explaining it before it can be signed off.
- The sign-off records who, when, and the status and difference at that moment. Pressing Sign again later replaces it with your sign-off as things then stand, so the row always shows the latest review.
Permissions
- Reconcile transactions — open the workspace and sign off an area. The View items links follow each screen’s own permission.
The workspace can also be read in the AWRA mobile app; signing off stays on the web. It is available through the API too.
