Leave Management
Define leave types, let staff request time off, approve it in one or two levels, and always know who is away — with balances that account for weekends and public holidays automatically.
Open Human Resources → Leave. The list shows every request with status filters and counts; settings for leave types and public holidays live in the same area. Employees can raise their own requests (see Employee Self-Service), and HR can raise a request on anyone's behalf.
Leave Types & Balances
Each leave type carries an annual entitlement and whether it is paid and needs approval. Accrual can be granted up front for the year or built up monthly, with an optional year-end carryover cap. A balance is opening + accrued + adjustment − taken, tracked per employee, per type, per year. When you request leave, the working days are counted excluding weekends and public holidays, so a Friday-to-Monday request over a holiday deducts only the true working days.
Public Holidays
Maintain a public-holiday calendar so balance calculations and the team calendar stay accurate. Recurring holidays repeat each year automatically.
Single- Or Two-Level Approval
A leave type can require one approval or two. With two levels, a request is first recommended by a line manager and then approved by HR — the request tracks which stage it is at, and final approval is blocked until it has been recommended. Only pending requests can be decided; approving deducts the balance, and cancelling an approved request restores it.
Team Leave Calendar
The Leave Calendar shows who is on approved leave on any day. View a whole month or a custom date range, with weekends and today highlighted — useful before approving a new request or planning cover.
Staff Without A Login
Employees who do not have an account can still request and track their own leave through a private, PIN-protected link (or QR code) that HR shares. Their requests land in the same pending queue as everyone else's. See Employee Self-Service.
