Appearance & Dark Mode

AWRA can follow your device's light or dark setting, or stay on whichever one you prefer. The choice is saved to your account, so it travels with you to any browser or computer you sign in from.

Appearance is set per person, not per organization — changing it affects only your own screen, and nobody else in your workspace sees any difference. No permission is needed, and it cannot be set for someone else or enforced across an organization.

The three settings

  • Light — the light appearance, whatever your device is set to.
  • Dark — the dark appearance, whatever your device is set to.
  • System — follows your computer or phone, so AWRA turns dark when your device does and back again when it does not. This is the default.

On System, you do not have to reload anything when your device switches over at sunset — an open AWRA tab changes with it.

Where to change it

  1. The quickest way — the sun or moon button in the top bar. One click swaps between light and dark.
  2. All three options — click your name in the top-right to open the account panel; Appearance is partway down.
  3. From the keyboard — press ⌘K (or Ctrl+K) to open the command palette. Appearance is the first thing in the list.

The change takes effect immediately. There is no need to reload the page, and you will not lose anything you are part-way through typing.

Printing and documents

Printing always uses the light appearance, whichever setting you are on. The same is true of PDFs — invoices, payslips, purchase orders, receipts and labels — and of the emails AWRA sends. A dark screen never becomes a dark page.

The vendor portal

Vendors have the light/dark button in their top bar, and their accounts follow their device by default. The three-way choice is not shown there yet, so a vendor who wants to pin one appearance can do so with the button, and one who leaves it alone simply follows their own device.
