Offline Operations Center

See which field devices are still holding unsynced work, which have gone quiet, and which operations failed on their way back in — before someone notices a movement missing from stock.

Field teams work where connectivity is not guaranteed, so the mobile app queues work locally and sends it when it can. That is the right behaviour, and it creates one risk worth watching: work that exists on a phone and nowhere else. The Offline Operations Center, under Security, is where you watch it.

What It Reports

  • Devices — every device operating offline against your workspace.
  • Stale devices — devices that have not checked in recently (no heartbeat in the last half hour), including ones that have never reported at all.
  • Queued work — the total operations devices last reported as still waiting to be sent.
  • Operations — the individual queued actions, filterable by status and by the module they belong to.

How To Read It

What you seeWhat it usually meansWhat to do
A device stale with a queueOut of coverage, or the app has not been opened.Contact the holder and ask them to open the app somewhere with signal.
A device stale with no queueIdle, off, or reassigned.Usually nothing. If it is gone for good, revoke it in Device Trust.
Failed operationsThe work arrived but was refused — usually because the underlying record changed, or the action is no longer allowed.Open the operation, see the reason, and redo the work in the app.
A queue that never shrinksA device stuck on one failing operation.Look at the oldest queued item first; it is normally blocking the rest.

Why Queued Work Is Not Yet Real

Nothing in a device queue has happened to your data. Stock has not moved and no document exists until the operation is accepted by the server. This is why a stale device holding a queue matters more than a stale device holding none — that is unrecorded work, and the count you run tonight will not know about it. See Offline Expectations for what the mobile app does and does not allow offline.

Permission

This page is gated by the same device management permission as Device Trust. For scanner problems in the field, see Scanner Not Working.
